Headquartered in the USA, Honeywell is one of the most recognized companies across the globe, operating in key sectors like aerospace, building technologies, performance materials and technologies, safety and productivity solutions etc. Founded in 1885, the company has a legendary reputation for inventing and creating world class products and solutions across multiple industries. Honeywell India is
a 100% owned subsidiary of its parent American company Honeywell Inc. Pineapple works extensively with Honeywell’s building technologies team. When Honeywell wanted a complete revamp of their website that met their global design language system, and that integrated thousands of product SKUs such that their customers could easily access it, Pineapple was given the mandate to execute this task.
Pineapple helped Honeywell launch a high fidelity professional speaker range right from the inception stage by creating the product identity, print communication, website design, ambiance branding and multiple product videos including product renders and photography.
The collaterals and communication assets led all the way to creating an experience center to showcase the fidelity of the audio systems. The design process throughout the product and consumer touch points was carried out in accordance with Honeywell’s global brand guidelines (Design Language System).
The website was designed to cater to the requirements of the (HBT) Home and Building Technologies business in India. The task was to visually present the universe of offerings from Honeywell HBT into an easy to navigate, easy to access website that lists down each SKU with its technical specifications.
The products are broken into 5 major verticals:
– Security,
– Fire Safety,
– PAVA (PUBLIC ADDRESS AND VOICE ALARM),
– BMS (BUILDING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM) and
– Electrical products
While the primary objective was to create a simple but highly efficient website, it was imperative that each product category retained its individuality, and careful conscious thought was put into this endeavour. Team Pineapple invested a lot of effort and thought
to bring out the silent as well as salient features of each product category ranging from highly technical products to marquee showcases.
A fully responsive layout, intelligent information architecture and consistency across devices, allows the user to navigate to the desired section with minimal effort.
The back end development was executed in a manner such that it matched the leading industry standard, not only in terms of user friendliness but loading efficiencies as well.
The intention and objective was to entice even a non-technical user to go through the product ranges, due to the beauty of the website interface. This challenge was made no easier with the sheer number of individual products that were to be included.
Transitions on hover, efficiently placed breadcrumbs and a comprehensive navigation map were the keys to a fantastic browsing experience.
Thanks to the detailed technical information pages under each category, the HBT team could now focus on effectively marketing each product type with better penetration and high yielding results.
The website took care of all the important information dissemination, ensuring that the enquiries were channeled effectively and the leads were converted with a much higher percentage than before.
